使用标准化双物种生物膜和浮游细菌培养物的条件培养基刺激SCAP，并研究其炎症状态和矿化能力。来自两种生长模式（浮游生物与生物膜）的细菌产物损害了SCAP的细胞活力、增殖和矿化能力，以物种和生长模式依赖的方式。虽然TLR4表达保持不受影响，但TLR2表达上调与SCAP的促炎性激活同时发生。此外，TLR及其下游TGF-β相关激酶（TAK1）似乎阻断了细胞矿化。

总之，该研究结果表明，细菌产物以TLR-，物种和培养依赖的方式促进促炎状态并抑制人SCAP的矿化。TLR2是这些反应的关键中介，需要进一步研究以更好地控制SCAP，以修改TLR引发和信号传导的不良事件。
