近日，一项刊登在国际杂志the American Journal of Preventive Medicine上的研究论文中，来自匹兹堡大学的研究人员通过研究指出，每周吃一次烤鱼有益大脑健康，当然这和鱼肉中所包含的ω-3脂肪酸并无关联，这就揭示了生活方式因素对个人后期大脑健康的重要性。

一些研究已经发现生活方式，比如身体活动不足、吸烟、肥胖等因素的减少会降低阿尔兹海默氏症的发病率，而鱼肉、种子、坚果及特殊的油类中高水平的ω-3脂肪酸的抗氧化效应往往和机体的健康尤其是大脑健康直接相关。

研究者Becker博士表示，我们的研究显示，烤鱼的摄入和个体的大脑记忆以及认知功能的改善直接相关，我们并没有发现ω-3脂肪酸的水平和个体大脑改变之间的关系。文章中我们对来自260名个体的饮食摄入数据进行了分析，并且对其进行了高分辨率的大脑MRI扫描和其它检查。

与此同时，研究者也让参与者填写了饮食习惯调查问卷，比如他们吃鱼的频率以及鱼肉的做法等等，结果显示，每周至少摄入一次烤鱼的个体其大脑中的灰质脑容量较高，而该区域往往是和记忆力以及认知功能直接相关；而相比没有摄入鱼肉的个体，摄入烤鱼的个体更易于具有高等教育的可能性。研究者表示，个体大脑的差异和其机体血液中ω-3脂肪酸水平之间并无关联。

最后研究者说道，生活方式因素，比如吃鱼，往往可以引起机体大脑的结构性改变，而多种生活因素的融合往往会对大脑的健康带来一定的效应，这或许会抑制个体在老年阶段的大脑认知障碍等神经疾病。
