淋巴增殖性疾病（LPD）的研究联合使用需要流式细胞术（FC）和免疫组织化学（IHC）。这通常导致重复的免疫表型测试，并增加了可能不符合国家医疗保险的报销资格的成本。本研究旨在建立一种基于初始FC分类的成本效益最低的诊断算法，以减少重复的免疫表型分型。

研究人员在12个月内回顾性分析通过FC和IHC检测的242例疑似LPD病例。将FC与手术诊断相关联，并评估了重复IHC检测的频率。

研究发现，重复免疫分型经常发生，总体而言，85％的病例至少有一个标记重复。诊断一致的病例重复标记明显少于不符合病例。一致的B细胞恶性肿瘤患者中，57％出现复发。然而，与新诊断相比，重复标记使用并没有减少。最常重复的标记是CD3，CD5，CD10和CD20。

研究人员建议在一致的情况下，IHC不应重复CD5和CD10， 这会将这些标记的使用量分别降低80％和76％。同时研究人员还开发了IHC使用的算法，改进了FC数据的合并，并可能降低医疗成本。
