NEJM：广西研究人员证实脑干脑炎是危重症手足口病主要死因

      记者日前从广西医科大学获悉，该校第一附属医院儿科教授农光民带领团队，从全球病例数最多的一组临床病理资料中研究证实，并发严重的脑干脑炎是危重症手足口病死亡的主要原因，相关论文近日发表在《新英格兰医学杂志》上。

     据悉，这是该杂志首次刊发广西研究人员的论文，也是中国大陆学者首次在该杂志上发表关于手足口病的研究文章。
农光民介绍说，手足口病是由肠道病毒引起的一种急性传染病，全球均有流行，其中EV71感染引起的手足口病病情往往较重，少数患儿病情凶险，易发生死亡。2008年以来，广西手足口病的发病率和危重症死亡率均居全国前几位。
目前，手足口病危重症的发病机制尚未完全明了，一直是国内外研究的热点。近年来，神经源性心肺功能衰竭被认为在手足口病危重症的发生发展中起主导作用，但有关研究资料十分有限，未能得到完全证实。
农光民系广西手足口病救治专家组组长，多年来他带领科研团队联合广西区内多家医院，一直致力于手足口病的临床研究。该团队通过多学科协作攻关，从全球病例数最多的一组临床病理资料研究证实，危重症手足口病死亡的主要原因是并发严重的脑干脑炎，而肺水肿、肺出血及心功能衰竭均为神经源性所致。
这一研究发现，对进一步阐明危重症手足口病的发病机理，进而指导临床救治具有重大的意义。
