这篇研究的目的是为了回顾性描述使用Thermafil (TF)进行牙髓治疗10年的成功率。

研究描述的是一项牙髓病Master's项目(2006-2008)招募的患者由研究生进行牙髓治疗后的疗效观察。所有经治牙齿均使用TF和AH Plus充填根管。满足选择标准的牙齿(206 teeth in 89 patients)再进行临床和放射线检查以评估10年的存留和根尖健康情况。记录人数及医疗数据；收集包括术前、术中和术后的数据变量。将牙齿分为"健康"(PAI≤2无体征/症状)、"牙髓疾病"(存在至少下面的一项： PAI≥3， 体征/症状， 随访后再治疗， 或因牙髓疾病而拔除)或"非牙髓疾病"(因无法修复折断或根尖周疾病而拔除)。对于10年的随访过程中的牙齿缺失，详细记录和分析原因。由2名PAI检查者在不知术前情况的条件下评估患牙疗效。采用Bivariate和multilevel分析进行统计学评估(α level set at 0.05)。

结果显示，术后10年有179 (87%)颗牙齿存留，27颗拔除：20颗为非牙髓原因(不包括治疗成功)和7颗为牙髓原因("牙髓疾病")。多水平分析显示，术前存在疼痛(odds ratio=6.720； 95% confidence interval， 1.483-30.448)和上颌牙齿(odds ratio=2.950； 95% confidence interval， 1.043-8.347)拔除的可能性增加。就根尖周的状态而言，159/186颗牙齿(85%)评估为"健康"。多水平分析证实，上颌牙齿(odds ratio=3.908； 95% confidence interval， 1.370-11.146)， 存在潮红(odds ratio=9.914； 95% confidence interval， 2.388-41.163)和发生断裂(odds ratio=35.412； 95% confidence interval， 3.366-372.555)分别会降低愈合的比例。

结论：10年后，在专科医师master's项目中使用Thermafil充填的牙齿其存留率及根尖健康状况与使用其他技术充填的根管相似。

临床意义：载体类的技术可以为临床医师提高效率的同时满足临床根管充填的治疗标准以及良好的临床疗效。
