带菌蚊子减少登革热病例

登革热是一种由蚊子传播的疾病,会导致发烧、皮疹、呕吐、肌肉和关节疼痛。据报道,过去几年里,这种疾病在印尼、越南、巴西和澳大利亚的病例有所减少。澳大利亚莫纳什大学流行病学家 Kate Anders 介绍了参与世界蚊虫计划的科学家的发现。

据介绍,昆士兰州北部在 2011 年引入了感染细菌的蚊子后,登革热感染减少了 96%。据统计,印度尼西亚的相关感染减少了 76%,巴西减少了 70%,越南也有类似的减少。

沃尔巴克氏细菌感染了自然界中的许多昆虫,但通常在传播登革热和其他疾病的埃及伊蚊身上找不到这种细菌。

研究人员发现,蚊子在实验室中被感染后,这种细菌可以产生代际传播,它们似乎可以阻止登革热病毒通过蚊子传播给人类。这些蚊子并未经过转基因处理。

会议展示的数据来自观察性研究,世界蚊虫计划的目标是明年在印度尼西亚公布一项对照试验的结果,并将其扩大到更多大城市。

“我们面临的挑战是如何能够有效地在大城市开展这项计划,如越南胡志明、泰国曼谷、印尼雅加达、印度新德里以及巴西的任何一个大城市。这就是我们希望达到的目标,到 2023 年保护 1 亿人。” 世界蚊虫计划影响评估主任 Cameron Simmons 说。
