新型冠状病毒病(COVID-19,由SARS-CoV-2病毒引起)已经在全球范围内迅速蔓延,截至2020年8月17日,该疾病已在全球范围内造成超过2110万例确诊感染,超过76.1万人死亡。在美国国内,纽约市在疫情爆发的初期阶段,是疫情最严重的地区之一。截至8月22日,纽约市已有228144例确诊感染和19014例死亡记录。

新型冠状病毒SARS-CoV-2在全球范围内的快速传播使医疗和检测资源紧张,使得识别和优先处理最危险的个体成为一个关键的挑战。人们已知了一些导致COVID-19发病和死亡的风险因素,包括年龄、性别、吸烟、高血压、糖尿病、慢性血管和呼吸系统疾病。

最近的证据表明,血型可能影响严重的COVID-19的风险。在此,研究人员使用纽约长老会(NYP)医院系统中已知血型的14112名SARS-CoV-2检测个体的观察性医疗数据,评估ABO和Rh血型与感染、插管和死亡之间的关联。

研究人员发现非O型的感染率略有增加。与O型相比,A型的插管风险降低,AB型和B型的插管风险增加,而AB型的死亡风险增加,A型和B型的死亡风险降低。 

研究人员估计Rh阴性血型对所有三种结果都有保护作用。

该结果表明血型可能在COVID-19传播中发挥作用。
