既往研究显示，某些肿瘤更常见于糖尿病患者，而糖尿病患者的头颈部肿瘤(HNC)风险鲜为人知。基于此，台湾学者们进行了一项相关研究。结果表明，糖尿病与罹患HNC风险增加具有相关性。而且糖尿病患者罹患口腔癌、口咽癌和鼻咽癌的风险显著增加。相关论文7月24日在线发表于《美国医学会杂志·耳鼻喉头颈外科学》杂志(JAMA Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg)。该回顾性队列研究对比了89 08

该回顾性队列研究对比了89 089例新诊断糖尿病患者和无糖尿病相关医疗报销的受试者，两组受试者的并发症、性别和年龄相匹配。随访结束后或直到患者死亡时对其进行评估分析。主要转归指标为至2011年底时患者HNC的发生率。

结果显示，新诊断糖尿病患者的HNC发生率高1.47倍[校正危险比(AHR)1.48]。糖尿病组比对照组的口腔癌、口咽癌和鼻咽癌风险显著增加，AHR分别为1. 74、1.53和1.40。
