人体对外来感染产生抗性的基础在于正确识别微生物的入侵并且激发保护性免疫反应。例如,C-型凝集素 (C-type lectins) 受体能够识别真菌细胞壁中的保守碳水化合物,这对抗真菌免疫反应的激发非常重要。

人体对外来感染产生抗性的基础在于正确识别微生物的入侵并且激发保护性免疫反应。例如,C-型凝集素 (C-type lectins) 受体能够识别真菌细胞壁中的保守碳水化合物,这对抗真菌免疫反应的激发非常重要。真菌细胞壁中的黑色素 (melanin) 也能激发免疫反应,但是识别黑色素的受体还没有被发现。苏格兰阿伯丁大学 (University of Aberdeen) 的研究人员发现了一种能够识别DHN-黑色素的C型凝集素受体 (melanin-sensing C-type lectin, MelLec) ,它能够识别烟曲霉 (Aspergillus fumigatus) 分生孢子和其它真菌中的DHN-黑色素。而且,这项研究表明MelLec激发的免疫反应在小鼠和人类中对保护宿主不被烟曲霉感染有关键性作用。
