2015年7月，在第3次世界世界急诊外科学会（WSES）世界大会期间发布了急性阑尾炎的诊断和管理指南，该指南主要包括以下内容：临床评分系统的诊断效率，影像学检查的作用，无并发症阑尾炎的非手术治疗，阑尾切除术的时机与院内延迟，手术治疗，术中评分分级系统和其临床作用，非手术治疗复杂阑尾炎：脓肿或蜂窝织炎，围术期和术后抗生素。
