超声波可以说是医生们用得最多的成像测试的方式，不管是胎儿检查，还是对人体器官检查，都会用到超声波。美国初创企业Butterfly Network刚刚宣布获得 1 亿美金投资，专门用来打造全世界最小的超声波成像设备，其主要构想就是利用手机等小设备去实现超声波成像。公司 CEO Jonathan Rothberg 表示，他的首要目标是打造出足够便宜的成像系统出来，全世界最贫困的角落也能用得起。并且

美国初创企业Butterfly Network刚刚宣布获得 1 亿美金投资，专门用来打造全世界最小的超声波成像设备，其主要构想就是利用手机等小设备去实现超声波成像。公司 CEO Jonathan Rothberg 表示，他的首要目标是打造出足够便宜的成像系统出来，全世界最贫困的角落也能用得起。并且，这套系统主要依靠软件来运行，包括用人工智能专家开发的技术来梳理一系列图像，从而提炼出可以自动进行疾病诊断的功能，对疾病确诊主要基于模式识别软件。

Rothberg 说：“我们希望这个产品就像是 iPhone 里的一个广角镜。”对于利用 iPhone 做医疗诊断，已经有不少初创公司在尝试了，比如我们之前就报道过的MobileOCT，就是利用 iPhone、图像分析和 3D 打印技术来诊断宫颈癌和皮肤癌，从而大大降低了诊疗成本。

不过，现在产品的很多细节还处于保密阶段，预计会在未来 18 个月内上市。Butterfly 的专利申请上是这样描述的：它志在开发出小巧、通用的超声扫描仪，可以实时做出 3-D 图像，把它放在一个人的胸膛上就能看到他身体内的图像。
