由于每位斜视患者的治疗效果不同,斜视研究者急于寻找在手术前或手术过程中能够对斜视手术结果进行预测的因子。直肌退缩后,结膜闭合对于矫正大角度斜视是有效的。结膜和Tenon囊的弹性对于斜视手术治疗非常重要。在这项研究中,研究者使用扫描光源进行前段光学相干断层扫描和多次B扫描,对其平均情况进行研究,评估斜视手术后1年角膜缘附近结膜和Tenon囊厚度(CTT)对预后的预测情况。

他们对15例第一次连续治疗的外斜视或内斜视患者进行了研究,确定了术前1年与矫正效果相关的参数。他们发现,1年CTT大于切除手术后CTT(269±111 vs 183±53μm,P <0.001),但在衰退方面影响较小(137±54 vs 183±71μm,P = 0.02)。手术的矫正效果(1.6±0.3°/ mm)与衰退侧术前CTT的相关性最强(P = 0.005,β= -0.73)。

因此,他们认为, CTT可为斜视治疗提供辅助信息,可能一种预后指标。
