根管治疗前需要掌握根管解剖和潜在的变异。这篇研究的目的是为了辅助诊断和治疗下颌磨牙远中根存在Vertucci V型结构的根管

这项系列病例提供常规根尖X线影像上存在的下颌磨牙远中根Vertucci V型结构根管的3个指征："鬼影"根尖孔、快速突破根管、偏心根管轨迹。报告描述的是5例具有Vertucci V型远中根管的下颌磨牙实施非性手术牙髓治疗。4例病例治疗后症状消失，牙齿恢复正常功能。1例病例由于症状持续且有临床指征而被确定为治疗失败。牙齿接受手术治疗随后愈合。

这些病例报告表明，发现和管理下颌磨牙远中根管系统的解剖变异及其重要，将这些能力整合入临床实践能够增加治疗成功率。另外，临床指导方针的提供能够帮助临床工作者克服诊断和治疗此种复杂病例带来的挑战。
