Mobilan的独特之处在于，这种病毒载体注入肿瘤后似乎可以抵抗肿瘤的抗细菌免疫防御力，从而将肿瘤细胞转化为治疗性的癌症疫苗。“文章资深作者Andrei Gudkov指出。 “在这项早期临床前研究中，我们发现接种Mobilan具有预期的效果，可以防止另外的肿瘤生长和新肿瘤的发展。”

Mobilan在前列腺癌患者（ClinicalTrials.gov标识符NCT02654938和NCT02844699）的头两个临床试验正在俄罗斯的多个中心进行，由Panacela Labs赞助。研究人员预期，使用TLR5靶向治疗将会导致明显减少和减轻严重的副作用，而不是其他类型的已知在一些患者中引起急性全身炎症的免疫刺激剂。

作者计划开发Mobilan的下一代制剂，以探索通过将这些药物与免疫检查点抑制剂结合来获得更大的抗肿瘤作用的可能性。
