根据4月23日Medscape报道，法国研究者提醒吸食大麻可能增加心血管事件危险，尤其是年轻人，可能会致命。相关论文发表在4月23的J Am Heart Assoc 上。【原文下载】

他们的担忧源于对2006年至2010年间法国Addictovigilance网络报告的审查，审查结果表明，几乎2%报告的事件与心血管并发症有关。另外，伴有心血管并发症人群的平均年龄为34岁，这些人群的心血管并发症的数量增加2倍。

心血管并发症的类型有急性冠脉综合征(ACS)(20/35)和心率紊乱(2个事件)。遭遇外周血管事件和脑动脉事件的患者数分别为10例和2例。值得注意的是，9例受试者死于心血管事件(ACS 8例，心率相关并发症1例)。报告中的大多数受试者为男性(85%)，其中9例受试者有既往心血管疾病史。

研究者们推测了导致这一并发症的潜在机制可能为血管痉挛。既往研究已显示，大麻素与心血管功能障碍相关。在实验室情况下，印度大麻与血管痉挛有关。
