研究人员发现外在表观遗传年龄比实际年龄越大(1年以上),纤维蛋白原和纤溶酶原激活抑制剂1(PAI-1)浓度越高(0.0004g/L·年;95% CI 0.0001,0.007;p=0.01和0.13U/mL·年;95% CI 0.07,0.20;p=6.6x10-5),同时,部分促凝血酶原激活时间(APTT)越短。在独立的队列中可观察到相同的PAI-1趋势。

为进一步阐明潜在的功能机制,研究人员将表观遗传老化与PAI-1蛋白编码基因(SERPINE1)和三个纤维蛋白原亚基编码基因(FGA、FGG和FGB)的表达水平联系起来(以外周血和主动脉内-中膜为样本)。研究人员观察到表观遗传老化加速与两种组织中的FGG转录相关。

总而言之,本研究表明表观遗传老化加速与促凝血因子表达图谱相关,表观遗传老化或许在一定程度上通过影响基因转录参与调节凝血因子表达。
