JAHA:酰基肉碱代谢改变与房颤风险增加有关

房颤(AF)是最常见的心律不齐,但其发病机理尚未明确。代谢组学的广泛应用可以帮助发现与疾病发生发展相关的新的代谢通路。

近日,血管疾病领域权威杂志JAHA上发表了一篇研究文章,在这项研究中,研究人员在马尔默饮食与癌症研究中测量了3770名参与者空腹基线下112种代谢产物,这些参与者没有AF。研究人员通过事先验证的登记处确定了AF病例,并使用Cox比例风险模型分析了基线代谢物水平与AF之间的关联。

在23.1年的随访中,研究人员发现了650例房颤病例(发生率为:每1000人每年8.6例)。在针对AF风险因素进行调整的Cox回归模型中,有7种中链和长链酰基肉碱与AF的发生风险较高相关(酰基肉碱每增加1SD的风险比[HR]从1.09;95%CI为1.00-1.18至1.14,95%CI为1.05–1.24波动)。此外,咖啡因也与风险增加相关(HR为1.17;95%CI为1.06-1.28),而β-胡萝卜素与更低的风险相关(HR为0.90;95%CI为0.82-0.99)。

该研究发现了酰基肉碱代谢改变与AF之间的关联,而与一般人群中传统的房颤风险因素无关。这些发现突出了AF诊断之前的代谢改变,并且可以提供对AF发病机理的深入了解。需要进行进一步的研究以在外部队列中重复这一研究结果,并评估酰基肉碱与AF之间的关系是否存在因果关联。
