Matthias Buck博士说道,实验研究发现,促癌蛋白K-Ras在细胞膜中的定位或许和其功能有着重要的关联,而一种名为PIP2的特殊类型的膜脂会对蛋白质进行重新定位使其更加具有活性,而且会诱发癌症发生。限制细胞膜中PIP2的浓度或许就能够使得突变的K-Ras蛋白隐藏起来,而特定的细胞信号脂质也会改变致癌Ras蛋白的活性,这也就表明,通过抑制在细胞中制造特殊信号脂质的酶类或许就有望干扰肿瘤的进展。
