研究人员在《生物制造》(Biofapication)上报告说,他们使用压电式喷墨打印设备,通过 3D 打印方式逐层喷涂大鼠的两种视网膜细胞,并借助高速视频技术不断调整打印过程,确保所喷物质的黏性和表面张力等特性精确无误,以求尽可能保证细胞存活。

研究人员表示,被喷涂成一定造型的上述细胞分别是神经节细胞和神经胶质细胞,前者负责从眼球到大脑特定部位的信息传递,后者负责为神经元提供支持和保护。研究结果显示,经 3D 打印喷涂塑型的这两种细胞在培养皿中均能存活,并可保持正常生物特性。

研究人员说,这项研究初步验证了用 3D 打印技术让视网膜细胞按组织架构“站队”的可行性,下一步他们将尝试喷塑视网膜中的其他细胞,进一步探索喷塑感光器官的可能性。不过研究人员同时指出,这项技术仍有许多有待改进之处,距离开展人体试验乃至实际应用还很遥远。
