研究者们纳入了 “动脉粥样硬化风险的社区人群”(ARIC)研究中基线无心衰的14 629例受试者，年龄54 ± 6岁，女性占55%，对其随访24 ± 1年。记录其基线时和8.9 ± 0.3年期间累计平均的自我报告每周酒精摄入量(1杯=14 g酒精)。利用多变量Cox比例风险模型评估酒精摄入与心衰的相关性，以及这种相关性是否可被年龄修正。

结果显示，大多数受试者都是戒酒者(42%)或既往喝酒者(19%)，其中每周喝7杯、7—14杯和≥14杯的受试者比例分别为25%、8%和3%。发生心衰的男性和女性受试者分别为1271例和1237例。

相对于戒酒者，每周喝7杯酒的男性受试者的心衰风险减少[危险比(HR)为0.80，P= 0.006]，这一影响在女性中不太确定(HR 0.84，P = 0.05)。

在喝酒更多的人群中，无论是男性还是女性，其心衰风险的差异并不显著。

喝什么酒有益健康？

既然中年人群适度喝酒有益，那么问题又来了，市场上酒品那么多，喝什么酒才真正有益呢？之前有研究显示，因红酒富含抗氧化剂，保护心血管，从而降低心肌梗死、卒中和腹主动脉瘤等风险，还能延缓皮肤等器官的老化。可见，如果您喜欢喝酒，在中年早期适度喝一些红酒或许是个不错的选择。当然，并不是所有人都适合喝酒。下面这些人群无论是何种年龄段，都不适合喝酒，这些人群包括：1、慢性肝病人群，如：慢性病毒性肝炎、酒精性肝病、药物性肝病、脂肪肝等；2、慢性胃病人群；3、已有动脉硬化和血管狭窄人群如果饮红葡萄酒过多，一则不利于供血机能，二则酒精本身会升高血脂和促进动脉硬化。
