2017年3月8日讯 /生物谷BIOON /——根据昆士兰大学（UQ）的一项新研究，女性发生月经初潮的年龄可以反映出怀孕期间患糖尿病的风险。来自UQ公共健康学院的研究人员分析了超过4700名来自澳大利亚女性健康纵向研究的女性的数据，结果发现发生月经初潮年龄越小的女性患妊娠糖尿病的风险更高。

研究人员Danielle Schoenaker说在11岁或者更早发生月经初潮的女性患妊娠糖尿病的比例比13岁之后才发生月经初潮的女性患妊娠糖尿病的比例高出50%。“这项发现意味着健康专家应该通过询问女性发生月经初潮的时间以找出妊娠糖尿病高风险的女性。”妊娠糖尿病是一个越来越常见妊娠并发症，对母亲和孩子均有长期的健康影响。

澳大利亚女性健康纵向研究项目主任Gita Mishra教授说女性较早的青春期已经成为包括妊娠糖尿病在内的严重健康问题的显著标记物。“这方面的研究对公共健康至关重要，因为全球女性开始月经周期的时间都呈现年轻化的趋势。”

Schoenaker解释说当研究人员考虑体重、童年、生育能力及生活习惯等因素之后，妊娠糖尿病风险与月经初潮时间的联系仍然成立。“大部分患妊娠期糖尿病的女性都超重或者肥胖，因此鼓励那些月经初潮早的女性在孕前控制体重也许可以帮助降低妊娠糖尿病风险。”

“尽管健康的体重很重要，但是妊娠糖尿病的高风险也可能与荷尔蒙水平改变有关，因此还需要更多的研究去探索其中的机理。”
