眼眶剜除手术会导致严重的损伤，给患者带来相当大的功能、美容和心理上的障碍。 眼窝假体对患者的外貌和心理康复很重要。

一名四十九岁的男子进行了眼眶外科术，并对恶性眼眶癌进行术后放射治疗。 考虑到在他这种情况下骨整合植入物的适应性和存活能力的不确定性，研究者对此进行了全新的治疗方案设计。他们使用了磁性弹簧保持器和耦合硅胶假体组成的眼部植入物。

他们发现，这种新颖的设计容易使用，为患者提供了良好的美容效果和更好的生活质量。这项工作为更多眼眶剜除术的患者带来了福音。
