最近,有研究人员从8名老年受试者的大脑解剖中获得了8例颞骨样本,目的是调查MicroRNAs在内耳组织中的表达情况,使用的方法是miRNA芯片。研究发现,在所获得的样本中,平均有478个miRNAs的表达发生变化,其中有348个miRNAs在所有的8个样本中都表现出表达变化。并且,在这些miRNAs中,16个miRNAs的表达在低龄老年人和高龄老年人中具有显著的差异。研究人员还指出,miRNAs在内耳发育过程中具有重要的作用,并对所有样本都进行了检测,比如在低龄老年人和高龄老年人中是否患有或者不患有听力损失。最后,研究人员指出,这些miRNAs不仅在内耳发育的过程中具有重要作用,并且在维持内耳稳态过程中也具有重要角色。
