Am J Clin Nutr:维生素B-6的摄入量与老年人的身体机能改善有关

      在过去的200年中,全球人类的预期寿命一直在稳定增长。为了使老年人更健康,老年人需要在日常生活中保持较高的身体机能,因为这与生活质量的提高有关,此外,较高的体能储备会减少老年人住院的几率,并减缓认知能力下降和降低全因死亡率。饮食中适当摄入烟酸,维生素B-6和B-12和叶酸可能有助于维持较好的身体机能,因为这些B维生素涉及与肌肉功能相关的多个过程。但是目前,人们对这些维生素B的摄入与身体机能之间的关系知之甚少。因此,本项研究的目的是调查膳食中烟酸,维生素B-6和B-12的摄入量与老年人身体机能之间的关系。

 

      研究人员将1249名健康的老年人(65-79岁)纳入本项研究,并记录了所有患者7天内的饮食摄入和维生素补充剂的完整数据,并以较短的体能测定和握力计进行机能的测量。最后通过经调整的线性混合模型评估维生素和身体机能的关联性。

 

 

      研究结果显示维生素B-6的摄入与手握力强度的提高显着相关,但是对于这种关联,研究人员发现维生素B-6的摄入量与身体活动水平之间存在显着的相互作用。在体育活动水平最低的参与者中,较高的维生素B-6摄入量往往与更大的握力有关(β:1.5±0.8 kg;P=0.051),而在体育活动四分位数最高的参与者中,维生素B-6的摄入量与较低的握力有关(β:–1.4±0.7 kg;P=0.041)。同时没有证据表明烟酸,维生素B-12或叶酸的摄入与身体机能之间存在关联,也没有证据表明烟酸状态或高半胱氨酸浓度对其具有介导作用。

      本项研究证实维生素B-6的摄入仅在体育锻炼较少的参与者中与手握强度更高有关,而对于体育锻炼强度较高的老年中维生素B-6的摄入与机能的提高并没有明显相关关系。
