心理所发现人脑局部功能一致性的神经生物学意义

人脑局部功能一致性(ReHo)在整个大脑皮层的分布有很明显的梯度变化,是标明大脑功能边界的一个指标。虽然其在神经精神疾病领域已经得到广泛应用并取得了众多进展,近来也被证实具备很高的重测信度(Zuo XN etc, Neuroimage,2013),但是目前尚不清楚其是否具有明确的神经生物学意义,因而限制了其进一步的深入应用。中国科学院心理研究所行为科学重点实验室左西年研究组通过对局部功能一致性(ReHo)的区域差异、结构形态学基础及功能协方差网络的系统研究,发现了这个指标的神经生物学意义。

该研究利用562名正常健康被试的结构及静息态功能磁共振成像数据,首先绘制全脑毫米精度内的二维ReHo、形态学指标(包括皮层厚度、表面积、平均曲率、沟深、局部沟回指数)图谱,然后对皮层上的区域差异进行研究,用以考察腹侧视觉通路、前额叶皮层和后内侧皮层的ReHo分布。结果表明:腹侧视觉通路的局部功能一致性梯度反映了信息处理的复杂程度或其功能等级(图1),前额叶皮层网络的功能等级分布也吻合其局部功能一致性梯度(图2),后内侧皮层的ReHo分布梯度揭示了其多模态功能信息整合的程度(图3)。其次,结构关联分析也发现ReHo的个体差异与皮层形态学个体差异显著相关,表明了人脑局部功能一致性具有结构形态学基础。最后,ReHo协方差网络由层级组织(感觉皮层及高级联合皮层)明显的5个模块组成。上述这些研究结果在三个成像中心的数据上都是完全可重复的。以上结果表明,人脑局部功能一致性具有由解剖、发育及认知等多因素共同决定的神经生物学意义。
