评估益生元（PREB）甘露寡糖（MOS）对大鼠实验性牙周炎（EP）和肠道形态进展的影响。

将40只大鼠随机分组（n = 10）：C（对照组），PREB，EP和EP-PREB。 PREB和EP-PREB组每天接受MOS并入饲料中。 30天后，EP和EP-PREB组在其下颌第一磨牙周围进行棉线结扎，保持14天。进行形态学，组织形态学，微计算机断层扫描，基因表达分析和免疫组织化学。对数据进行统计学分析（p <0.05）。

结果：EP-PREB组显示较少的邻间骨吸收，无骨分叉和骨孔隙，以及比EP组更大的骨矿物质密度（p <0.05）。除了TNF-α和IL-1β的减少以及EP-PREB组的TGF-β免疫标记评分的增加外，还观察到IL-10和IFN-γ基因表达的显着降低。 EP-PREB组也呈现类似于C组的绒毛高度和爬行深度值，而EP组呈现降低的值（p <0.05）。

可以得出结论，除了保护肠之外，口服施用MOS促进对大鼠中由EP引起的牙槽骨吸收的保护作用，改变组织学和免疫炎症参数。
