这项多中心,基于人群的出生队列研究包括26184名孕妇和她们的孩子。怀孕期间平均摄入鱼的范围从比利时0.5次/周到西班牙4.45次/周。与摄入鱼的次数较少(3次/周或更少)的女性相比,在怀孕期间吃鱼超过3次/周的孕妇,其后代从婴儿时期到儿童中期有较高的身体质量指数值。与那些在怀孕期间每周摄入鱼一次或更少的女性相比,在怀孕期间摄入较多的鱼(>3次/周),增加了婴儿快速生长的风险,调整后的比值比(aOR)为1.22(95%CI,1.05-1.42),并且增加了后代在4岁时(aOR为1.14 [95%CI,0.99-1.32])和6岁时(aOR为1.22 [95%CI,1.01-1.47])超重/肥胖的风险。交互分析表明,在怀孕期间摄入较多的鱼,快速生长的影响在女孩中(aOR,1.31 [95%CI,1.08-1.59])比男孩(aOR,1.11[95%CI,0.92-1.34];相互P=0.02)要大。

怀孕期间摄入较多的鱼增加了婴儿快速生长和儿童肥胖的风险。该研究结果符合美国FDA和环境保护局对于鱼的摄入量的限制。
