结果共纳入了18项符合条件的研究。酒精消费量最高与最低之间牙周炎发生风险的汇总RR为1.59。性别分层分析中也发现酒精消耗量与牙周炎发生风险之间存在显著地关联。酒精的消耗量和牙周炎发生风险之间呈线性的剂量-反应关系，每天多消耗1克的酒精可增加0.4%牙周炎的发生风险。

总而言之，此荟萃分析的结果表明饮酒可增加牙周炎的发病风险。
