约有2850万艾滋病毒携带者接受常规治疗(CD4 < 500),但目前并没有抗逆转录病毒药物用于治疗艾滋病。在相关HIV疾病治疗中降低血清中微量元素含量是很常见的一种治疗方法。补充微量营养素(MNS)可能会减轻疾病发展和降低死亡率。

我们检索了来自MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane Central, AMED和CINAHL数据库，时间截止到2014年12月,没有语言限制。我们构建了一个分层贝叶斯随机效应模型对这些研究结果进行分析。我们检索了2166项研究并收纳了49项符合要求的研究。其中我们对三项研究通过贝叶斯随机效应模型进行评估发病风险。与对照组相比，2249名成年人发病风险0.62(95% CI,0.37,0.96)。需要治愈患者的中位数是8.4(4.8,29.9)和贝叶斯因子为53.4。我们还分析了来自7项随机对照研究中的4095名成年人死亡报告数据,RR为0.84(0.38,1.85),NNT 25(4.3,∞)。
