近期，中山大学（中大）肿瘤防治中心关新元教授领衔的研究团队在国际知名杂志《消化道》（GUT）和《癌症》（Cancer Res）连续发表文章，对食管癌和肝癌的发病机制进行探索性研究。

　　食管癌和肝癌都是严重危害我国人民健康的恶性肿瘤，预后相对较差。关新元等分别以肿瘤发生的遗传学基础和肿瘤细胞生长的微环境为出发点，对肿瘤的发生机制就行了研究。结果发现，食管鳞状细胞癌(SCC) 的肿瘤相关成纤维细胞能够分泌WNT2，促进肿瘤细胞生长，这种效应是通过WNT2/beta-catenin通路发挥作用的 [GUT 2011；60（12）：1635-1643]。研究者还发现，在食管鳞状细胞癌患者中多出现抑癌基因RBMS3的表达下调，他们深入研究后发现，该基因可以下调c-Myc，进而影响Rb磷酸化而发挥抑癌功能，该基因在患者肿瘤组织中的表达情况与患者的预后显著相关，研究成果发表在《癌症研究》 [Cancer Res 2011：71（19）：6106-6115]杂志上。

　　此外，关新元等还发现CHD1L与肝癌的化疗耐药有关，并构建了针对CHD1L的腺病毒携带的干扰载体，体内、体外实验结果表明，降低CHD1L表达能显著增加肝癌细胞对化疗药物敏感性[GUT 2011，60（4）：534-543]。
