随着口腔医学的飞速发展,口腔疾病与全身健康之间的密切联系逐渐被揭示,并日益得到研究学者以及社会大众的关注和重视。全身系统性疾病,尤其是糖尿病与口腔疾病之间的关系是当前口腔医学、内分泌医学、分子生物学等多学科交叉综合研究的前沿热点。

日前,口腔健康与糖尿病关系国际学术研讨会在北京举办。来自南方医科大学口腔医院的章锦才教授在大会上介绍,在过去的几十年里,医学界对于炎症性疾病很关注,作为一种慢性炎症,牙周炎被发现与很多慢性疾病都有着密切的关系,比如糖尿病和肥胖。现有的研究发现,牙周炎患者出现糖化血红蛋白升高的比例明显高于健康人群,而肥胖患者更容易发生牙周炎,因此这三者常常是相互影响的。

来自哈佛医学院的George L King教授根据他们的研究介绍了牙周炎与糖尿病之间的相关性。研究发现,在伴有牙周炎和不伴有牙周炎的两组糖尿病患者中,持续跟踪两年后,血糖控制不佳的患者比例分别为37%和11%。研究提示,牙周炎影响了糖尿病患者的治疗效果。那么在糖尿病患者中积极治疗牙周炎结果会怎样呢?在2型糖尿病患者中,通过积极治疗牙周炎,尽管患者的糖尿病治疗方案没有调整,但仅仅三个月后,患者的糖化血红蛋白平均下降了0.4%。可见,积极治疗牙周炎有助于糖尿病患者控制血糖。最后,该团队还从治疗费用进行了统计研究,结果证实拥有牙科保险的糖尿病患者,其糖尿病治疗费用平均下降了20%。

参会学者一致呼吁,口腔科医生在面对牙周炎患者的时候,除了为其积极治疗外,还要提醒患者进行糖尿病筛查。而内分泌科医生在诊治糖尿病患者时,也应提醒患者注意口腔卫生,认真筛查并治疗牙周炎,因为这不仅能让自己拥有好牙齿,而且能为血糖控制提供帮助。
