Sample Size and Statistical Analysis
To achieve a statistical power of 85% at 5% type I error, with the initial assumption that the primary endpoint will be reached in 60% of BMMCT-treated patients and 20% in patients on SMT alone, a sample size of 26 patients in each arm was calculated.
