最近,有研究人员阐释了PLK1调控的MCM3磷酸化能够调控RCC中的细胞增殖和细胞凋亡。他们的结果确定了PLK1和磷酸-MCM3(p-MCM3)在肾细胞肿瘤中高表达。PLK1的表达与肾细胞肿瘤的临床特性紧密相关。它们在RCC的增殖和细胞凋亡中具有重要的作用。体外试验中,在过表达PLK1或者MCM3后,RCC细胞的增殖增强而细胞凋亡受到了抑制;而敲除后,RCC细胞的增殖减弱,细胞凋亡得到了促进。另外,MCM3还是PLK1的生理底物,并在第112个丝氨酸位置磷酸化。体外试验中,PLK1调控的MCM3磷酸化还能够促进RCC细胞周期增殖和抑制细胞凋亡。更多的是,研究人员发现了小鼠中,PLK1调控的MCM磷酸化能够诱导细胞增殖和减少细胞凋亡以及肿瘤生长。

最后,研究人员指出,PLK1调节的MCM3磷酸化是调节RCC增殖和细胞凋亡的一个新的机制。
