据美国媒体消息,该国一位70多岁的妇女2016年9月死于超级细菌,这种细菌被称为“新德里金属-β-内酰胺酶 ”(New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase,简称NDM-1)。

该细菌已经扩散到美国的很多州,现有的全部26种抗生素对它都没有任何效果,因此在2010年被发现时,新闻报道都称之为“超级细菌”。

报告称,来自内华达州的这位妇女在印度时摔断了腿,多次住院,后来返回美国,但因为感染了严重的炎症被送往医院,最终不幸去世。

由于许多发病者曾在印度或巴基斯坦旅游和治疗,因而研究人员推测NDM-1细菌可能起源于印度次大陆。这种病可以通过饮水等途径传染,表现症状为肠道感染。

报告称,现在还没有能治疗这种细菌感染的药物。
