50届欧洲糖尿病研究协会（（European Association for the Study of Diabetes，EASD））年会将于2014年9月15~19日在奥地利首都维也纳举办。据EASD/EFSD主席Andrew J.M. Boulton教授介绍，会议计划将涵盖座谈会、著名讲座、基础和临床科学辩论等在内的6大部分。组委会从2264篇提交的摘要中选择了1332篇在EASD会议上展示。EASD年会将延续以往的传统，为研究者和临床医生带来最高水平的的科学内容。同时，继续在互联网上进行虚拟会议报道。

维也纳是一座历史和文化名城，有着历史悠久的宫殿、剧场、博物馆、公园等。另外，曾涌现许多著名作家、音乐家、画家、雕塑及建筑师的传统文化背景激励着这一现代化欧洲城市的发展，也吸引了全世界的人。会议的举办地维也纳展览中心是欧洲最为现代化的建筑之一，交通十分便利。
