Nature:控制疟疾的灭蚊大计要考虑蚊子的遗传多样性

本周《自然》在线发表的一项研究Genetic diversity of the African malaria vector Anopheles gambiae介绍了它们的遗传多样性。在分子水平上增进对这些物种的遗传学理解,对于最大程度延长杀虫剂的效用期限、加快制定新的传病媒介控制策略至关重要。

冈比亚按蚊和Coluzzii按蚊是非洲主要的疟疾传播者,本周《自然》在线发表的一项研究Genetic diversity of the African malaria vector Anopheles gambiae介绍了它们的遗传多样性。在分子水平上增进对这些物种的遗传学理解,对于最大程度延长杀虫剂的效用期限、加快制定新的传病媒介控制策略至关重要。

通过采用杀虫剂干预手段,疟疾的发病率和死亡率已经大幅下降,但是蚊子种群不断上升的杀虫剂抗性和其它适应性变化恐将令这些成绩得而复失。

英国惠康基金会桑格协会的Alistair Miles及同事参与了冈比亚按蚊1000基因组项目(Anopheles gambiae 1000 Genome Project),他们对冈比亚按蚊和Coluzzii按蚊的765个样本进行基因组测序。这些样本来自8个非洲国家的15个地点,涵盖雨林、大草原和沿海生物群区等一系列生态。

作者发现单个蚊子的基因组携带170万-270万个变异等位基因,证明它们属于最具遗传多样性的真核物种。他们还在多个已知会影响杀虫剂抗性的基因中发现了最新的正向选择信号。例如,Vgsc基因的一种突变(名为“kdr”)会降低蚊子对杀虫剂DDT和拟除虫菊酯的易感性。

作者认为在设计蚊子防控策略时应将蚊子种群较高的遗传多样性考虑在内。

疟疾快速诊断测试存矫枉过正之嫌

本世纪初,研究人员开发了针对重要的儿童杀手——疟疾的快速诊断测试(RDT)。这种方法像家用验孕工具一样简单,只需要手指上的一滴血便可检测疟原虫。RDT使非洲和亚洲偏远乡村的卫生工作人员得以准确并且几乎马上诊断疟疾,从而减少其过度使用新一代“神丹妙药”——以青蒿素为基础的联合疗法(ACT)的可能性。ACT面临着出现耐药性的危险。

Lancet Infect Dis:“超级疟疾”在东南亚蔓延

越南、泰国和英国研究人员在新一期英国《柳叶刀—传染病》杂志上刊文说,令主流疗法失效的“超级疟疾”正在东南亚传播,柬埔寨、泰国、缅甸、老挝和越南都已经出现疫情。研究人员警告,如不能得到有效控制,“超级疟疾”可能会进一步扩散传播。

西双版纳实现消除疟疾目标

11月14日,云南省卫生计生委在官方网站上发布消息称,经专家考核评估,西双版纳州已达到省级消除疟疾考核评估标准,该州作为云南省疟疾重灾区提前实现消除疟疾目标。
