第十五届国际基因组学大会(ICG-15)在武汉开幕。本届大会以“组学与人类健康”为主题,吸引了来自海内外20余位院士及百余位组学领域顶尖科学家参会。湖北省委常委、武汉市委书记王忠林,武汉市委副书记、市长周先旺等嘉宾出席大会开幕式。

大会学术委员主席、华大集团联合创始人刘斯奇在开幕式表示:此时此刻,武汉的风光最受全世界瞩目,全国及全世界都为武汉取得的抗疫成果感到高兴。华大更是亲身参与到了武汉一线抗疫中,为抗疫进程贡献了自己的力量。

ICG一直是以中国发生的重大生命医学和生命科技产业进展为重要研究课题,希望通过本次大会的学术产业讨论,为未来的新冠疫情防控提供专业的见解,为未来的控制和发展献计献策。

华大集团联合创始人、董事长汪建在致辞中讲到:华大亲身经历了从武汉封城,到变成最安全、最健康的城市这一路走来的不易,接下来,华大要思考能为武汉、为湖北的发展能做些什么。

连续举办了15年国际基因组大会(ICG),第一次从深圳走向武汉,就是希望为武汉的发展提供新的思考。华大“火眼”实验室的核心能力和生产制造产业将落地武汉,希望“火眼”实验室打造成为继武汉抗疫后,具有全球最有影响力的传感染疾病防控机构,它所带来的科学、产业、民生和教育意义,将成为英雄的武汉一个崭新的科技标志。

此外,华大还将率先通过针对染色体疾病的防控,帮助武汉成为“先天无残”的城市。他介绍,今年疫情过后,武汉恢复的首批检测业务,就是出生缺陷检测,未来华大还会尽快在武汉启动耳聋筛查等相关先天性遗传疾病的检测,奔着“先天无残”目标,武汉将会成为世界上领先城市,一座基因科技领先全球的城市。

中国生物多样性保护与绿色发展基金会国际工作委员会主任、联合国秘书处高级参赞、大会国际独立顾问团主席杜晖贤(Fred Dubee)为大会发表致辞。

此外,中国工程院院士、国家卫健委高级别专家组成员、传染病诊治国家重点实验室主任李兰娟,Novim Group的首席科学家Aristides A.N. Patrinos等海内外科学家为大会发来视频祝贺。

致辞结束后,湖北省委常委、武汉市委书记王忠林,武汉市委副书记、市长周先旺,武汉市委常委、东湖高新区党工委书记汪祥旺,以及中国生物多样性保护与绿色发展基金会国际工作委员会主任、联合国秘书处高级参赞、大会国际独立顾问团主席杜晖贤(Fred Dubee)、大会主席、华大集团联合创始人杨焕明院士、华大集团联合创始人、董事长汪建、大会学术委员主席、华大集团联合创始人刘斯奇共同为大会启动开幕。

国际基因组学大会(ICG)是由华大主办的全球生命科学领域学术交流与合作的会议。面对全球仍在经历新冠疫情的当下,大会落地武汉对国际基因组学大会这一全球顶尖的科学盛会有着历史性意义。武汉作为全球率先取得抗疫成果的城市,为全球应对新冠疫情提供了丰富的成功经验。这其中,以基因组学为代表的生命科学对认知和抗击新冠疫情有了巨大的突破。

本届大会将聚焦COVID-19大流行背景下的全球健康等相关议题,通过全球生命科学领域顶尖科学家们的会议与讨论,为全球认知新冠病毒及应对未来大流行病提供建设性的视野,扩大全球应对未来大流行病的能力,也帮助广大公众更加了解公共卫生和个人社会责任的作用。

受疫情影响,本次大会将以全球连线、线上线下互动的方式进行。围绕创新创业、产业生态、产融结合,汇聚几百位优秀创业者、产业专家以及资深投资人交流研讨国内外医疗健康行业未来发展趋势,分享关于生命科学、基因组学、医疗健康等领域的前沿成果和应用案例,并为大众进行生命科学的科普传播。

本届大会的分享嘉宾中,既有中国科学院院士、中国疾控中心主任高福,上海市新冠肺炎医疗救治专家组组长、复旦大学附属华山医院感染科主任张文宏,中国科学院武汉病毒研究所研究员,美国微生物科学院院士石正丽等大众熟知的抗疫专家,也有现代生物学领域最重要的意见领袖之一、哈佛大学和麻省理工学院教授George CHURCH,中国科学院院士,中国人民解放军陆军军医大学第一附属医院教授、博士生导师、主任医师卞修武,中国科学院院士、发展中国家科学院院士,上海交通大学教授、博士生导师黄荷凤等顶尖学术大咖,20余位海内外院士和百余位科学家将在未来的一周时间里进行分享。
