Drs Jean-Claude Tardif 和 Marie-Pierre Dubé与同事们共同分析了服用dalcetrapib或安慰剂的5749例病人的数据，并在临床研究中提供了相关DNA。研究发现了dalcetrapib的效应和一个16号染色体上特定的基因ADCY9(腺苷酸环化酶9)，尤其是一个特定的基因变异体(rs1967309)之间有非常紧密的联系。在rs1967309基因档案AA中，相比安慰剂，服用dalcetrapib的人复合心血管端点减少了39%。另一项研究中证据也表明患者有利的基因档案也得益于服用dalcetrapib后颈动脉壁厚度的降低。

“这些结果可引起在有遗传背景的患者的临床研究中需要卫生监管机构的审查和dalcetrapib药物所提供的个体化治疗。它还为精密治疗心血管疾病和抑制动脉粥样硬化提供了巨大的希望，心血管病是世界死亡率首因。”首席调查员Tardif说，他是蒙特利尔心脏研究所医学研究中心主任和蒙特利尔大学的医学教授。

在全基因组关联研究中，研究人员测试了完全基因组多个遗传标记。“我们使用最先进的遗传学和统计技术证明接受dalcetrapib治疗的病人的基因档案产生了影响，而安慰剂却没有影响。我们想在未来几年为病人提供更有效和更安全的药物以及更多因人而异的心血管治疗法。”Dubé博士说，他是蒙特利尔心脏研究所Beaulieu-Saucier药物基因组学中心主任和蒙特利尔大学的医学教授。
