由此可见，在北方气候中，较高的环境热期与中老年人发生AKI的风险增加有关。

高温和急性肾损伤（AKI）之间的联系在温带气候中已经报道过。然而，这种联系是否被推广到温度变化更大的北方气候仍是未知的。近日，肾脏病领域权威杂志Am J Kidney Dis上针对这一问题发表了一篇研究文章。

该研究采用配对病例对照研究，研究对象集中在加拿大安大略北部气候的老年人（平均年龄为80岁）。该研究纳入了从2005年至2012年期间每年的四月至九月间因AKI住院治疗的52913例患者并且根据精确的住院日期、年龄、性别、农村居住地、收入和慢性肾脏病病史匹配了174222名对照者。热期定义为连续3天超过区域最高温度的第九十五个百分位数，该研究的结局为医院（住院或急诊就诊）诊断的AKI。比值比和95%可信区间被用来评估热期和AKI之间的关系。为了量化绝对效应，研究人员在没有热量周期的情况下将人群的AKI发病率乘以调整后的比值比（近似相对风险）。

研究人员发现热期与AKI风险显著相关（比值比为1.11；95%可信区间为1.00-1.23）。热期的绝对效应与暖季期间每100000人中的182例AKI患者相关性。该研究存在的局限是研究人员并不能量化受试者在外面待多长时间或者是否有空调。

由此可见，在北方气候中，较高的环境热期与中老年人发生AKI的风险增加有关。
