最近,研究人员报告了由RNA结合蛋白RBFox2,应激诱导的microRNA miR-34a和必需的EC耦合器JPH2组成的调节途径。在该途径中,初始心脏缺陷减少RBFox2表达,其诱导miR-34a的转录抑制,并且miR-34a靶向Jph2升高以损害EC偶联,其进一步表现出心脏功能障碍,导致进行性心力衰竭。

miR-34a对该过程的关键贡献是通过施用其类似物足以诱导心脏缺陷,并通过使用其抑制剂来缓解RBFox2耗竭诱导的心脏功能障碍而进一步建立。
