最近,有研究人员提出了一种频谱分辨率的测量方法,可能比单独的听力图更能有效的预测残余听力的有用性。研究包括了正常听力(NH)的参与者(n=12)和患有听力损失的参与者(n=23),听力损失参与者具有急剧倾斜的听力图。听力损失组包括7名EAS使用者,14名助听器使用者以及3名没有在测试耳中使用扩音器参与者。研究结果表明,听力损失参与者使用频谱时间调制纹波测试(SMRT)的表现明显比NH参与者更差,而且与可听性无关。NH和听力损失的参与者在言语感知任务上的表现都随着频率信息的减少而下降。另外,研究人员还观察到听力损参与者的言语感知、SMRT评分和中频测听阈值之间有显著的相关性。

最后,研究人员指出,对听力损失参与者来说,听觉滤波器的拓宽、耳蜗非线性损失以及可能的耳蜗死区都可能导致频谱分辨率失真,从而与NH模拟产生偏差。频谱分辨率的测量可能反映了听力图中不明显的听力损失一方面特征,因此是评估人工耳蜗植入后残余听力贡献的有用工具。
