Atherosclerosis:与EPA相比,DHA具有更强的抗炎作用

omega-3是一组多元不饱和脂肪酸,常见于深海鱼类和某些植物中,主要成员包括二十碳五烯酸(EPA)和二十二碳六烯酸(DHA)。多项研究显示,EPADHA对人体健康十分有益。近期发表在Atherosclerosis杂志上的一项研究显示,EPADHA对抗炎作用不同,与EPA相比,DHA具有更强的抗炎作用,而EPA在平衡促炎蛋白和抗炎蛋白的过程中起着更好的作用。

在这项为期34周的随机、双盲、交叉试验中,研究人员纳入21名参与者,包括9名男性和12名绝经后女性,所纳入参与者均有慢性炎症,表现为hs-CRP浓度中位数较高,平均年龄为50-75岁。研究人员进一步将参与者随机分配进行EPADHA的补充,同时在整个研究期间遵循低饱和脂肪(<7%的总能量)和低胆固醇<200毫克/天)的饮食,观察并分析EPADHA对慢性炎症和血浆中PUFA-PCs的影响。

研究结果显示,DHAEPA具有更强的抗炎作用。DHA降低了四种促炎蛋白的基因表达,包括TNFAIL6 MCP1IL10,而EPA仅降低了TNFA表达。DHA降低了白细胞中三种促炎蛋白的分泌,而EPA仅降低了一种。另外,DHA还可以降低抗炎蛋白的水平,而EPA则不能。但是,EPA改善了促炎蛋白和抗炎蛋白之间的平衡。同时,代谢后,EPA产生与免疫功能调节相关的副产物,DHA则产生不同的副产物。

综上,该研究阐述了EPADHA在调节免疫系统发挥着重要的作用。EPADHA对单核细胞炎症反应有着不同的影响,DHA在减轻促炎细胞因子有着更显著的作用,可能是由不同PUFA衍生物所介导,进一步表明SPM及其中间体具有免疫调节活性。
