研究人员发现，每10万个人中，GC的发生率为7.4、6.8和5.5。一年的相对生存率(RSRs)有显着的改善，从42.4%到44.3%，而在第三个十年里有较大的增长。然而，长期生存率仍然很低(5年RSRs：17.8%到20.3%到22.9%；10年期RSRs：14.1%至16.4%至18.6%。

"我们的分析显示了GC的发生率降低和存活率提高。此外，低的[社会经济地位]与更低的存活率有关。"值得注意的是，其他人(主要是亚洲人)发病率最高，但结果比白人和黑人要好。"
