该研究共纳入96位SLE患者及96位健康对照者,SLE患者的疾病严重程度及活动性无明显差异。研究通过汉密尔顿抑郁量表(HDRS)评定患者的抑郁指数;检测并比较两组患者外周血淋巴细胞中的5HTTLPR及五羟色胺转运体基因启动子区(PR-5HTT)的DNA甲基化水平。

结果显示,与不伴随抑郁症的SLE患者相比,伴抑郁症的SLE患者更易出现S基因,SS基因型发生率较高;SS基因型的患者较携带长等位基因(L)的患者其抑郁症病情更为严重;SS纯合体患者的HDRS评分均数较SL/LL基因型的患者高。而SLE组和对照组患者PR-5HTT的DNA甲基化均较低,无明显差异。

因此,五羟色胺转运体基因启动子区功能的表达可能与基因多态性有关,而与DNA的甲基化无明显相关性;5HTTLPR S基因可能是SLE并发抑郁症的易感基因。
