阿片类药剂有被滥用的风险。2014年10月，联邦目录II处方条例重新划分，将含氢可酮产品从目录III移至目录II，需要处方权限。这篇研究的目的是为了评估牙髓诊所(GEC)在目录调整前后阿片类药剂处方开具的情况。研究系统性的回顾分析了GEC从2010-2018年间所有就诊患者的电子健康记录中阿片类药剂处方开具的情况，分析处方开具的日期和当时使用的牙科术语代码。在有阿片类药物处方的电子健康病例中，额外提取牙髓和尖周诊断、疼痛程度、阿片类药物的类型和详细处方。计算处方开具率，并通过chi-square， analysis of variance， logistic regression和multivariable analysis进行统计学分析。显著性水平设置为P < .05。结果显示，总的来说，共有4851患者经历了7841次治疗；92.2%的患者未开具阿片类处方。剩余的380名患者经历了420次治疗，开具了509张处方。目录调整前的处方率为7.5% (228/3021)与调整后的4.0% (192/4820)具有显著性差异(P < .001)。氢可酮制剂是开具最多的阿片类药物
