在这30个研究中,中位随访时间从2.5年到31.9年,68659位受试者共发生15198例血管意外事件。高亚油酸水平与CVD、心血管死亡率和缺血性发作的总体风险降低相关,每四分位数范围的风险比分别是0.93(95% CI 0.88-0.99)、0.78 (0.70–0.85)和0.88 (0.79–0.98);与低冠心病风险无明显关系(0.94,0.88-1.00)。以五分位数评估亚油酸的相关性结果相似。花生四烯酸水平与心血管事件高风险无关;在极端五分位数的比较中,花生四烯酸较高水平与较低的总CVD风险相关(0.92;0.86-0.99)。人群之间无异质性。

在本全球汇总分析中,体内循环/组织较高水平的亚油酸与较低的大心血管事件风险相关,花生四烯酸可能有关。本结果表明亚油酸在CVD预防中具有良好作用。
