一些小型研究表明,肠道微生物可能影响骨质疏松症,但从人类代谢组学研究中没有发现相关证据来解释这种关联。

近日,内分泌和代谢性疾病领域权威杂志Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism上发表了一篇研究文章,该研究旨在通过粪便和血清代谢组学探究肠道微生物群失调与骨质疏松症之间的关联,并探索了这种关联发生的潜在机制。

研究人员通过16S rRNA和双能x线骨密度(BMD)分析了1776名以社区为基础的成年人肠道微生物群组成和骨密度(BMD),并采用超高效液相色谱-串联质谱(UPLC-MS/MS)对971名受试者的粪便(15个类别)和血清(12个类别)的靶向代谢组学开展进一步分析。

研究设计图及主要研究结果

该研究发现,骨质疏松症与肠道微生物的多样性、分类和功能组成有关。放线菌属、蓝脓杆菌属、颤螺旋菌属、拟杆菌属和考拉杆菌属的相对丰度与骨质疏松呈正相关。然而,细粒菌科、柯林菌科和瘤胃球菌科与骨质疏松呈负相关。微生物生物标志物与骨质疏松症之间的关联与微生物功能中的肽酶水平和转录机制相关。粪便和血清代谢组学分析结果表明,酪氨酸和色氨酸代谢以及缬氨酸、亮氨酸和异亮氨酸降解分别与已明确的微生物群生物标志物和骨质疏松症显著相关。
