他们采用2×2析因设计,选择高腰围或者至少存在一项代谢异常指标的个体作为受试者。一共有86名受试者入组,通过MINIM软件,随机地分出4个等能量的饮食组:1)对照组:低LCn3和多酚饮食组(n=20);2)富含LCn3饮食组(n=19);3)富含多酚饮食组(n=19);4)富含LCn3和多酚饮食组(n=19)。这些饮食构成及分配在试验之前事先告诉受试者,但是检测者并不知情。整个试验持续8周,试验前后受试者都要使用标准餐进行OGTT试验,检测血葡萄糖、胰岛素及GLP-1水平,及胰岛素敏感指数,β-细胞功能。


结果显示,在OGTT中,多酚可以显著降低血浆葡萄糖水平AUC (p=0.038),提高早相胰岛素分泌水平(p=0.048),然而LCn3却显著的降低了胰岛β-细胞功能(p=0.031)。此外,多酚可以显著改善口服葡萄糖胰岛素敏感性(OGIS;p=0.05 vs 对照组)。

最终研究者认为,富含多酚的饮食结构,可能是通过增加早相胰岛素分泌和胰岛素敏感性,降低血糖水平。这种效应可能降低糖尿病和心血管疾病的风险。然而,富含LCn3的饮食减少胰岛素分泌,降低餐后GLP-1水平的相关机制和意义仍需进一步探究。
