这项刊登在国际杂志American Journal of Physiology - Endocrinology And Metabolism上的研究论文中，研究者发现，棕色脂肪移植物可以逆转1型糖尿病，同时还会使得非肥胖的糖尿病小鼠的葡萄糖耐受性恢复到正常水平。研究者表示，在1型糖尿病发病前，棕色脂肪移植物可以有效减缓或抑制疾病的发生。

尽管当前研究还处于实验性阶段，但研究者坚信，这种来自胚胎的棕色脂肪移植物可以有效作为治疗1型糖尿病的新型疗法。最后研究者表示，一旦我们对这项新型技术的成功率进行优化，那么我们就会开发新型合适的胚胎替代组织，同时利用这种来自胚胎的脂肪组织来有效逆转非胰岛素依赖性的糖尿病。本文研究对于后期剖析1型糖尿病的发病机理以及开发新型的个体化疗法或提供了新的研究线索和证据。
