维生素D缺乏容易引发应力性骨折

他们发现维生素D水平不足的患者摄入的钙元素量只有常人的10%到15%，磷酸与摄入量为50%-60%。“因此，这些元素摄入的不足导致了骨组织较低的矿化程度”。

然而，作者们也指出这些患者维生素D缺乏的程度是可以预测得到的。“能够保证骨骼健康物功能完整的血清中最低的25-水合维生素D水平至今还没有定论”。然而，“我们希望通过讨论的方式设立一个维生素D含量标准，用于提示患者应力性骨折的风险”。

应力性骨折通常是体育运动中发生的损伤，当骨头承受的压力大于其能够承受的最大压力时将会发生应力性骨折的事件。研究者们分析了从2011年到2014年期间，Miller医生诊断的124名应力性骨折的患者的病历，结果显示：53名患者三个月期间的血清中25-水合维生素D的平均含量为31.1ng/ml。其中44名患者含量低于40ng/ml，根据维生素D委员会的标准，这一数值表示维生素D含量不足；另外，有28名患者维生素D含量低于30ng/ml。

其中有三分之一的患者的第二趾骨发生过应力性骨折，17.6%在第三跖骨发生过应力性骨折。

“25-水合维生素D的含量与应力性骨折之间的联系之前已经有研究报道过，他们建议血清中最低的维生素D含量不能低于40ng/mg，尤其是对于体力活动需求较大的人群”。
